Ernest Mejia trained at Touro University Nevada Physician Assistant Studies program in Henderson, Nevada and was among the top of his class. Growing up in National City, California, it was his desire to return home and serve the population of where he grew up.
Ernest has had diverse medical experience prior to becoming a physician assistant. After graduating from the University of California, Irvine, with honors, he continued to volunteer in several free clinics and children’s hospitals in Orange County, while also continuing work as a Scribe in the second busiest emergency department in the state. Prior to beginning his physician assistant studies, Ernest worked in a high security lab studying influenza and many other respiratory diseases.
Ernest is thrilled to be working at My Chula Vista Doctors, with the opportunity of serving his hometown. On his free time, Ernest enjoys exercising, traveling, and composing music. He is fluent in basic Spanish and speaks some conversational Tagalog. He is constantly working to further strengthen his mastery of these languages, to better listen to his patients.
